Chelsea produced a stunning performance to beat Manchester United and book an all London FA Cup final clash with Arsenal.
Frank Lampard and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer squared up for the fourth time this season, with the latter winning all three previous meetings.
This time, however, it was the Chelsea boss who came on top, and he did it spectacularly, ending the Red’s 19-game unbeaten run.
Goals from Olivier Giroud, Mason Mount and Harry Maguire’s own goal were enough, as Chelsea coast to a 3-1 victory at Wembley.
Player Ratings
Willy Caballero: 7
The Chelsea goalkeeper was scarcely troubled. Besides his second-half scare, where he failed to contact the ball after rushing out to clear a corner, he was solid throughout the game.
César Azpilicueta: 8
Playing on the right of Chelsea’s three-man defence, the Spaniard showed his touch of class. He capped a brilliant performance with an assist, whipping in a dangerous cross which Olivier Giroud tucked home.
Antonio Rudiger: 8
Rudiger, who has been disappointing for Chelsea in recent games, put on a defensive masterclass for the Blues.
He was able to keep up with the Red’s pacy forwards before his touch deflected off Harry Maguire for Chelsea’s third goal of the night.
Kurt Zouma: 7
The Frenchman put on a show defensively and was up to the task whenever called on.
Reece James: 8
The 20-year-old was spectacular. The Englishman fulfilled both his defensive and attacking duties judiciously, creating a series of goal threatening opportunities with his excellent crosses.
Kovacic: 7
He partnered brilliantly with Jorginho in keeping Bruno Fernandes shut. His excellent passing was on display before earning a late breather.
Jorginho: 7
It was a classy performance from the regista. He dictated Chelsea’s rhythm and tempo the entire 90 minutes.
Marcos Alonso: 7
An all-round solid performance. The full-back sent in a couple of dangerous crosses into the United box. Had little to do defensively.
Willian: 7
His exceeding work rate was evident as he ran ragged the entire game. He was a constant threat in attack while also winning back processions in defence.
Mason Mount: 8
Mount was simply superb. He was everywhere, tirelessly covering grounds and helping on both sides of the pitch.
He grabbed Chelsea’s second of the night, pouncing on a loose ball from Brandon Williams before drilling his shot from past De Gea from outside the box.
Olivier Giroud 9
Since the restart, the 33-year-old has been a dependable go-to man for the Blues.
In a MOTM performance, Giroud’s strength and aerial prowess were on show as he kept defensive pairing of Maguire and Lindelof on their feet.
He opened the scoring for the Blues late in the first half. His fourth goal in four games in all competitions.
