Images: Chelsea’s 2021/22 Leaked Home Kit

Footy Headlines have published some images that are believed to be Chelsea’s home kit for the 2021/22 season.

The Nike kit remains two shades of blue, this time forming an uneven zig-zag pattern down the strip. There is also the addition of yellow as a secondary colour, forming the side stripes, and the Nike logo.

Yellow has been a part of Chelsea’s crest on and off since formation in 1905. It disappeared in 1964, when they reverted to blue and white, before adding red in 1967. The yellow came back briefly in the ’90s, however the current design re-introduced it as highlight and trim.

A dash of yellow is one thing. But the saturated look on the crest might be a bit too far. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED: FOOTY HEADLINES

The crest in the above photo has a decidedly jaundice look to it, with the usual white surrounding the lion and text is taken over by a paler yellow. Although the wide shot shows the normal colouring. Hopefully that is what they go with.

Three returns as the front of shirt sponsor as they enter the second season of their three year contract.

With the emphasis on the yellow as a highlighting colour, would it be unreasonable to think a return to a yellow away kit is on the cards?

Footy Headlines themselves believe these to be very accurate images of what we can expect to see on field later in the year.
