Villarreal and Nigeria winger Samuel Chukwueze is believed to have attracted the attention of a few top Premier League clubs.
AS have named Chelsea, along with Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City as the interested clubs.
Chelsea could do with some more pace and power out wide. Chukwueze has only just turned 21 too, meaning he has time to get up to speed with the league and improve further.
He is very expensive, so any club signing him would have to expect an eventual star.
Chukwueze joined Villarreal as an 18 year-old in 2017 from the Diamond Football Academy in his hometown of Umuhaia. After spending a season in Villarreal’s U19 side, Chukwueze made his first team debut, scoring two goals in his first three matches.
In the 2019/20 La Liga season Chukwueze has played in 26 out of a possible 27 matches, starting 13 times. In those 26 appearances, the winger has managed three goals and one assist.
The winger was a member of Nigeria’s 2015 U17 World Cup winning squad, where he won the bronze boot after scoring three goals and grabbing three assists.
Chukwueze has also revealed himself to be a lifelong fan of the Blues, with an aim of joining them.
Chelsea are said to be front runners to land Chukwueze, but they are also after Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho. If Chelsea miss out on Sancho, Chukwueze appears to be the next best option.
