Chelsea are ready to pay Kai Havertz £300,000 per week ahead of his imminent move to Stamford Bridge, with his transfer fee set to be between £68m and £73m.
Frank Lampard is taking his summer recruitment very seriously and having already signed both Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner, he’s on the verge of adding Bundesliga wizkid Kai Havertz to his ranks.
Sources close to Chelsea Central claim that Lampard and Marina Granovskaia are prepared to pay the German approximately £300,000 per week on a five-year deal.
With his potential £73m fee factored in, this deal could cost Chelsea Football Club £150m over the course of the next five years. Despite his obvious talent, this is a veritable risk given the 21-year-old’s lack of Premier League experience.
Given the money involved in the deal, Havertz will need to hit the ground running or risk the wrath of the English media that is infamous for not giving young, foreign talent the necessary time to adapt to the Premier League.
Of course, regardless of how long it takes him to prove his worth in England, Chelsea will put their faith in Havertz and give him the time required to settle in.
